Assessed property values in Naples Florida have gone up for the first time in five years.
The areas of Collier County seeing slight increases include downtown Naples, Marco Island and Golden Gate Estates.
The increase may be minimal, but it’s up and that’s what’s important.
According to the Naples Daily News article, new construction played an important role in this increase. Taxable values for new construction countrywide rose to $407.9 million from $388 million the year prior.
Collier County Property Appraiser Abe Skinner reported that the new taxable total of $58.52 billion edged up 0.53 percent from last year’s $58.21 billion. Overall, Skinner is calling it “a wash,” but considering that government officials were predicting a 5 percent decline this year, I’d say this is positive news.
