If you’ve read any of my blog posts over the years, you know I’m a huge fan of breakfast. And not just for breakfast, but also for brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert.
This weekend we finally stopped in at The Original Pancake House, which I’m pretty sure years ago we first visited on vacation on Chicago. At that time, we were wandering the city streets and came upon an officer who told us The Original Pancake House was the place to go for a delicious breakfast. Who am I to argue with the law?
Now The Original Pancake House is in Naples, but since it opened last December it’s been nearly impossible to get close to the place. As a local, I know you don’t attempt to eat at a place that just opened during high season. Not going to happen.
So we waited and it was worth it.
The menu is big and everything sounds yummy, meaning this is going to require multiple visits so I can try it all. On this visit, I had the Nutella Crepes, which reminded me of our time in Europe where we indulged in crepes in every city and town we visited. My husband had the Corned Beef Hash (homemade, I might add!), and a friend of ours had the Bacon Lover’s Breakfast (who can resist that?!).
It was all really delicious, but I’m eager to go back to try the Apple Pancake and the Dutch Baby, each of which take about 30 minutes to prepare, according to the menu.
The Original Pancake House is located in the former Calistoga Bakery on Airport-Pulling Road just south of Vanderbilt Beach Road. Click here for the hours.
Check out my past blog posts for some other places I recommend for breakfast in Naples:
Dolly’s Produce Patch
Bonefish Grill
EJ’s Bayfront Cafe
And these 6 favorite spots
Enjoy!
