Naples really does cater to every lifestyle.

Pilots, for instance, who own a private plane will likely be intrigued by Wing South Airpark. I’m not a pilot and I certainly don’t own a plane, but how cool is it to have a runway in your back yard and a hanger as your garage? Pretty cool, I think.

Wing South Airpark Naples

This fly-in community of Wing South Airpark is located in Southeast Naples off Rattlesnake Hammock Road, close to 951 (aka Collier Boulevard), placing it near conveniences like the Publix grocery store and banks, and even the Naples beaches and downtown are just a few miles away.

This gated Naples community, built in 1972, has a paved and lighted runway spanning 100 feet wide and 4,400 feet long at its heart. With only 59 residences, there’s not enough congestion to warrant a control tower.

Residents are treated to a pilot’s lounge and fueling membership privileges. It is run as a condo association and therefore there are quarterly fees, but with those fees residents enjoy lawn and landscape care, exterior pest control and security.

G. Dewey Polly, who conceived Wing South Airpark, created a unique community within Naples that many people probably don’t even know exists.

With so few residences, it is rare that there are homes for sale in Wing South Airpark, but should you want to explore the possibility of living in Naples and keeping your plane in your private garage, I’d be happy to chat with you about it.
