Brown pelicans are year-round residents of Naples Florida, but white pelicans in Naples are a treat to see because they only spend part of the year here, typically October through March, which is why they are referred to as “snowbirds.”
Traveling from as far away as Idaho, Minnesota and Canada, large groups of these birds come here to enjoy the warmer winter. When spring approaches, the white pelicans begin their journey north again. This cycle is repeated every year.
We caught of glimpse of this large group of white pelicans during a fishing excursion off Goodland.
