A dwindling supply of resale homes, an uptick in prices, and prolonged bidding wars are giving home buyers all the more reason to purchase a new home in Naples rather than purchase an existing one.

Housing starts are expected to triple by the end of 2015. The Shinn Group, a Colorado firm that works with the country’s top homebuilders to improve performance and profitability, projects new home construction will return to normal activity by 2015 with 1.3 to 1.5 million starts.

Here are some of the new Naples communities that have popped up or are about to:

Andalucia
Centrally located in Naples, construction has been resurrected at this communityAndalucia Naples FL that was started during the boom and was affected by the economic bust. FrontDoor Communities is finishing out the gated neighborhood with a selection of single- and two-story homes offering at minimum three bedrooms and three full baths.
Price Range: $300Ks to $500Ks
Location: West of Interstate 75, south of Pine Ridge Road off Whippoorwill

Bent Creek Preserve
Zoned for up to 450 homes, but with the total number of homes yet to be determined, Centerline Homes is making its first move into Southwest Florida with two series of single-family homes with four or five models in each series. The architecture will feature a more woodsy, Craftsman look.

Camden Lakes
A single-family home community in North Naples built by Pulte Homes that will feature 150 residences when complete. Eight floor plans are available; some with 3-car garages! Natural gas is included.

Location: Off Livingston Road north of Immokalee Road and west of Interstate 75

Canopy
Being built by Neal Communities, this development will feature 108 single-family homes ranging in size from 1,772 to 3,000 square feet under air with lake and preserve views. Homes will be situated around a 7-acre lake and there will also be two smaller lakes and 18 acres of wetland preserve area.

Esplanade Golf & Country Club
This gated, resort-style community, encompassing nearly 1,800 acres, built by Taylor Morrison will include more than 1,100 single-family and coach homes. Centered around 18 holes of golf, this community will also feature tennis, an extensive greenway system, a wellness center, and many other amenities.

Hacienda Lakes
This new 2,262-acre development is projected to include 1,760 homes, 327,000 square feet of retail space, 70,000 square feet of professional and medical office space, 135 hotel rooms, 140,000 square feet of business park or educational facility, and a public school. More than 1,500 acres will be left as preserve area.

Esplanade at Hacienda Lakes
Within the 2,262-acre, master-planned community of Hacienda Lakes, Esplanade by Taylor Morrison is beginning to take shape. A total of 400 villa and single-family homes will encompass 152 acres offering two- and three-bedroom residences accented by a California Tuscan architecture.

The Isles at Collier Preserve
Being built by Minto Communities, a builder known for its eco-friendly attributes, the Isles is to be a waterfront community set on 2,300 acres over half of which is to be left as a natural habitat. The other half will include approximately 1,600 single-family and coach homes with coastal Caribbean exteriors set around a series of lakes and rivers.

Lantana at Olde CypressLantana at Olde Cypress Naples FL
Built by Stock Construction, Lantana features two-, three- and four-bedroom single-family homes from 1,800 to 3,100 square feet. A 36,000-square-foot clubhouse and championship golf course are the heart of the community.

Mockingbird Crossing
Coming in the Spring of 2014, this community by D.R. Horton will feature single-family homes ranging in size from approximately 2,600 to 4,400 square feet.
