If you’re looking for a place to run, bike or walk, check out Naples’ greenways.
An approximate three-mile long greenway in south Naples, officially called the Rich King Memorial Greenway, connects Radio and Rattlesnake Hammock roads. It’s a great place to bike, run or walk your dog.
This greenway has been open for three years, and now a Greenway Park in Naples is under construction. It will start at Golden Gate Parkway and go south past the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and the Naples Zoo.
The park will include a 124-acre recreational facility with restrooms, shade structures, a boardwalk, a pathway, a kayak launch, bridges, a maintenance building and parking. It is projected to open sometime in May 2014.
Aother Greenway that opened in 1992 is located adjacent to the Naples Muncipal Airport and consists of a mile and a half paved trail that goes along the eastern edge of the Gordon River.
Bicycling in Naples is a great activity, and overall Naples is a very bike friendly city. There are designated bike paths along most of the roadways and, if not, you’ll likely find sidewalks.
