Buying a new home in Naples Florida was the plan from the start for Rick and Valerie Merner. However, in the summer of 2011 when we started our search, new construction in Naples was non-existent.
To get an idea of what the market had to offer and what best suited their needs, we looked at existing homes whenever they were in town on vacation. While the Merners were willing to consider the purchase of an existing home, as long as it had been renovated to a degree, ultimately new construction was their dream.
Thankfully, in 2012 the real estate market in Naples was once again heating up and builders, witnessing the shift, started returning to the area.
After careful consideration of what Naples’ resales had to offer, the Merners eventually chose to stick with their first choice of new construction and in January 2013 signed a contract to build new in Andalucia, a small, gated community of single-family homes in central Naples.
Six months later, the Merners settled into their new Seville floor plan by FrontDoor Communities, a single-story home offering three bedrooms and three full baths within 2,088 square feet under air.
Andalucia was the ideal Naples community for them, not only because they were able to select their floor plan, their lot and their upgrades, but also because the homeowner’s association fees were reasonable and included lawn and landscape maintenance, irrigation water, and access to the clubhouse which offered just enough in the way of amenities.
