If you are moving to Naples from up north, more than likely you are coming from a home where you had natural gas. Natural gas in Naples is not as prevalent and buyers are often disappointed to find so many communities dependent on electricity.
Here is a list of Naples gas communities, as well as some in Bonita Springs and Estero, that offer gas. I’ve done a bit of research to pull this list together, and while I’d like to think it is comprehensive, in all likelihood there are probably communities missing from the list. If you know of any that need adding, please let me know.

I realize cooking with gas is preferred, but if you are concerned about the costs of electricity in Naples, check out my book, “Moving to Naples: The Un-Tourist Guide.” The chapter “Can You Live Well Here?” explores Naples’ cost of living and compares Naples with others cities across the United States. You may be surprised to find just how affordable life in Naples can be, even when it comes to utility costs.

Saw your post re: Gas communities from 8/27/13. Do you have a more current list ?
Esplanade in Hacienda Lakes has gas.
Ted, Thank you for letting me know about Esplanade at Hacienda Lakes. I do have more communities to add to this list, that either are gas communities or will allow residents to bury a tank on their property to give them gas cooking. I will be adding those names this week to this blog post.
Will you continue to update this list? It is very helpful.
Vincent, Thank you. And yes, I do try to update it on occasion. Alysia
Thank YOU!!
what areas did you find that can add a buried gas tank
Most prefer a buried tank due to it’s size. I can answer any questions about gas codes. West Coast Generators 239-566-1769
In the communities that you have listed, with natural gas, can a whole house generator be installed Is that permitted?
What company does the natural gas in SW Florida? I just called FPL and they said they only do electric and had no idea what company does natural gas! This is for Esplanade Golf and Country, Naples
The company I am most familiar with is Teco Peoples Gas. Here is the website: https://www.peoplesgas.com/.
Mockingbird Crossing says they are a gas community. Is this natural gas or propane?
Hello Carol,
Mockingbird Crossing is propane; you may bury a tank on your property.
Do communities with natural gas allow gas run whole home generators?
I can’t speak for every community in this list, but I do know some that do allow it.
